Happy New Years Eve!!

Okay, at some point are these stupid things gonna stop getting scheduled on holiday eves? This is getting ridiculous. Granted, I suppose that I could always change the day I post these, but I REFUSE. I WAS HERE FIRST, NEW YEARS. Well... no, no I wasn't, but that's really not the point and... why am I even talking about this?

Especially since I painted my nails again!!

Holiday colors, aw yeah! Except, uh, I sort of painted them the day after Christmas. Close enough.

Anyway, so I'll readily admit that for the majority of the past week, I kind of just gave up and decided to let my brain go into full out lazy mode. Instead of really being all that productive, I ate a lot of crap food (mmmm. Doritos) and played far too much World of Warcraft. I did play some Dragon Age, but for some reason I can only play that game for about an hour before I wind up getting really, really pissed off at it, so I've set it aside for the time being. 

And after all that time I spent creepily and narcissistically trying to make my character look just like me, too. Hey - I just want to be a warrior, okay?!

However, the last few days (okay, the last one day) I've actually done some stuff!! I finally finished the full preliminary draft of the sequel to my first book (which for some reason I had been sitting on for about 1,000 years like a complete idiot) which is very exciting! I still have a lot to do, like type half of it into my word document since I hand wrote random parts of it, and remove my section headers that read intelligent things like "WHAT THE FUCK CHAPTER EVEN IS THIS", but still - it's there! I just have to fix it!! 

And fix it and fix it and fix it and -

Okay, enough of that. In Bird news, I have done a thing! Yes, a WHOLE THING! And that thing is - the beak covering!!!

It's inside out. This is not what it will actually look like. Also, note the extremely supportive dog flopped down the opposite direction in the top of this pic. Thanks, dog. 

I haven't sewn the pieces together yet, and I know it's not going to be beautifully seamless, but the leggings' stretch material for the beak actually looks pretty good. I know it's inside out in the picture, which doesn't really help visualize much, but you'll have to trust me on this for now. When I actually sew it I'll show it off. Unless it looks like crap. Well, okay, I'll show you then, too. Why not - I'm supposed to post one of these a week, after all! Might as well revel in my random screw ups. 

Also, I had a random urge to make a World of Warcraft related costume, which I think is really just me wanting to try and make armor out of worbla. I'd just be doing it for the heck of it, though, not really to wear anywhere, so I'm not sure how worth it this would be. Eh - maybe I can make a fake sword! Or, you know, just stick to actually working on Bird like I said I would.

Did I mention that I get off topic really easily? Totally applies to life activities too; that's why I just call myself a hobbyist. Hey - at least I haven't started any grocery store related rants!
