Sadie Selfies

Today is the one year anniversary of when my Sadie had to leave us. It's gotten better - while I do still sometimes think I hear her coming up my parents' stairs, I no longer accidentally see black fuzzy spots out of the corner of my eye where she used to hang out, and I know a lot of that has to do with the wonderful Mr. Chesterton. Today, though, I'm still sad.

So here are a bunch of selfies I took with Sadie over the years. She was an amazingly expressive dog. For example:

I think her expression says everything about her feelings on spending a whole trip to Yellowstone in the backseat with me.

Sadie definitely had a sense of humor. She generally knew what was going on, and she'd react in very specific ways. As a result, she and I took a ridiculous amount of pictures together where we managed to make almost the exact same facial expressions. These are not the world's most flattering pictures of me, but hey - GUESS HOW MUCH I CARE. BECAUSE DOG.

She was also just fun for pictures in general. I've got a post on here somewhere about the process of trying to take a Sadie picture - it's very blurry. And while generally she was happy to take selfies, other times she was a little more sabatoge-y.

Or just over it.

I miss my fuzzy best friend, but I'm glad that I can look at these pictures now and smile. I mean, there are definitely tears involved, but who can blame me? We had fifteen years together, and they were hilarious and weird and amazing.

That's my baby. I have hundreds of other photos, but I feel like this is enough for now. Maybe next year I'll post all the ones I have of Sadie and Dad looking exactly the same in pictures! I've got a bunch of those too. They are MAGIC.

And if you think I'm not amassing a folder of Mr. Chesterton looking earnestly at everyone, you must have never met me.
